CITIZEN’S NEW MEDIA WINDER ENABLES HIGH VOLUME LABEL PRINTING

Citizen Systems Europe, the leading manufacturer of high quality dot matrix, label and barcode printers, has launched the CLP MediaWinder, a device which automatically re-winds printed rolls of media, allowing high volumes of labels to be printed and handled quickly and efficiently.

The new MediaWinder is able automatically to re-wind large quantities of labels from selected Citizen printers making it easy for businesses to handle and distribute the media. Mark Beauchamp, European Marketing Manager for Citizen Systems Europe, said, “The demand from our customers for a competitively priced, yet efficient and robust, Citizen label re-winder has been extremely high.  We have developed the CLP MediaWinder to meet their specific requirements and complement our latest range of label printers.”

Unlike many competing models, the CLP winder is a relatively simple construction, consisting of a gearbox, motor, and adjustable clutch, making it easy to use and ensuring a long operating life. It is highly versatile, able to accommodate labels as wide as 120mm, on a roll with a maximum diameter of 150mm.  Labels can be re-wound extremely quickly, with the device capable of operating at a speed of 60-120 revs/min (depending on model). The winder incorporates an easy-slide media holder to make loading and unloading the device simple and quick, plus an automatic tensioning mechanism.

There are two models of the CLP MediaWinder available; the 115 model is compatible with the CLP 521 and 621 Citizen printers, and the MediaWinder 215 is designed for use with the CLP 7201 printer.  These direct thermal and thermal transfer printers are of a high specification and are designed to print large quantities of labels and other media, accurately and quickly.  The CLP 521 and 621 have print speeds of up to 100mm/sec, and can accommodate label rolls with a maximum diameter of 125mm, while the CLP 7201 can print up to 175mm/sec and can print from media rolls measuring 200mm in diameter. The combination of the MediaWinder 215 and the CLP 7201 label printer offers the fastest possible printing and winding available.
